Do the Libraries have copies of textbooks for Ball State classes?
- The Libraries do not systematically purchase textbooks used in Ball State classes because textbooks often change from one semester to the next.
- Search OneSearch to see if the Libraries have the book you need.
- Or log in to Reading Lists to see if your instructor has put textbooks and other materials on course reserve.
Are there course-specific subject guides to library resources?
- The Subject Guides / LibGuides link provides access to a wide variety of librarian-created guides to library resources.
- For guides created for certain courses, choose "By Type" and "Course Guide."
How do I get class materials/course reserves my professor has left at the library?
- Some instructors arrange to have a list of special readings available for their class.
- They may be books you can check out for a short period of time.
- They may be articles available online.
- To find out what is on reserve for a particular class, log in to Reading Lists.
- Reading lists for courses in which you are enrolled will appear on the “Lists” tab.
- You may also search for reading lists on the “Find Lists” tab.
- Books on reserve are not available for hold or recall, and you may only check out one reserve item at a time.
