How do I print in color using my print allocation or Cardinal Cash?
- Open the Print dialog box via the usual route: typically File -> Print.
- Use the drop-down menu to select "Print Smart Color."
- Note: The default is to print double-sided on this printer. Change this option if you like.
- Choose "Print."
- Wait for the "Print Job Details" box to pop up.
- Log in with your BSU or guest account username and password and click "Print."
- Proceed to a Print Smart Color printer..
- Use the small screen on the printer to log in, either by swiping your BSU ID, or typing in your username and password.
- Choose the print job and touch "Print."
- You may log off, or allow the printer to log you off in several seconds.
How do I print in color using cash?

- From the "Print Jobs" tab, press your User ID, and then your print job.
- Press the “Print” button.
- In the pop-up window, press “Print.”
- Insert 25¢ per page (cash or copy card), and your job will print.
From which computer stations can I print to the color printer?
- You can print in color using your print allocation or Cardinal Cash from any computer in Bracken Library, the Science Library, the Health Library, the Architecture Library, or from your own device (using Mobile Print).
- You can print in color using cash/copy card from the PCs on the west side of the first floor of Bracken Library.
- You can print in color using cash/copy card from any of the PCs in the Architecture Library and the Science Library.
- Color printing with cash/copy card is not available from the Libraries' Mac computers.
Where are the color printers/copiers?
- Bracken 1 West (Library Information Desk side): one Print Smart Color printer and one color printer/copier (requiring cash)
- Bracken 1 East (Current Periodicals side): one Print Smart Color printer and one color copier (requiring cash)
- Architecture Library, AB 116: one Print Smart Color printer and one color printer/copier (requiring cash)

How long does my print job stay on the color printer?
- Print jobs are available for 24 hours on the color printer.
- After a job prints, it is deleted from the Job List on the printer.
How do I find my print job at the color printer?
- For the color printer/copiers (requiring cash), use the touch screen:
- Press the “Printer” icon.
- From the "Print Jobs" tab, press your User ID, and then your print job.
- For Print Smart Color printers:
- Use the small screen attached to the printer to swipe your ID, or sign in with your BSU username/password.
- Press "OK" on the "Available Funds" screen.
- Press "Print Release," and choose your print job(s).
Can I use my own paper in the color printer?
- You may supply your own paper (matte or cardstock or metallic -- just not glossy); however, please ask for assistance in loading these papers.
- The color printers aren’t designed for glossy papers, glitter paper, labels, or transparencies.
How can I get my money back if the copier/printer won’t print or prints someone else’s print job?
- Speak to an employee at any service counter. During business hours, Support Services staff will be contacted. Outside of business hours, staff at the Library Information Desk will be contacted.
What is the cost if my document has some color pages and some black and white pages?
- All the color printers can detect which pages have color and which do not. You will be charged 25 cents for each page which includes color, and the lower price for those pages which are only in black and white.
