What if I get an error message that says "There's a problem with your account?"
- Staff at the Tech Center concierge desk (BL 101) can look up your account to determine the issue.
- Possibilities include:
- Your printing allocation expired because you graduated. (Your print allocation ends shortly after the last day of the semester in which you graduated.)
- Your printing allocation expired at the end of the semester because you are not enrolled in classes for the next semester.
- You are still able to print, by following these steps:
- Send printouts to the color printer/copier and pay in cash or with a copy card in order to print them out.
- The cost is 10 cents per side of a page for black and white (6 cents if using a copy card) or 25 cents per side of a page for color.
What if my print job does not appear at a release station?
- It’s possible the print job has not yet arrived at the release station. Press the “Refresh” button after a moment to see if it shows up.
- It’s possible you did not log in to the “Print Job Details” box after clicking “Print” at your workstation. Go back to the computer you sent the print job from and check to see if the box is there waiting for your log in information.
My JPEG image prints out strangely. How can I print JPEGs?
- Convert your JPEG to a PDF file, and then print it out.
- One way to do this: open a blank Word document, insert your JPEG, and then choose File-->Save as Adobe PDF.
- Then print as usual from the PDF.
- Ask for help at a Library Information Desk if you have problems.
What can I do if I get a print job with poor print quality?
- Choose "Report an Issue" from the HelpDesk to have credit applied back to your print balance. Credit will be issued the following business day.
- Another option is to fill out the Print Smart Credit Request Form.
- If immediate credit is needed, please visit the Library Information Desk or the Tech Center concierge desk.
How can I cancel a print job once I’ve sent it?
- Go to a printer release station (next to a printer) and log in by swiping your BSU ID or typing your username/password.
- Select the print job you want to delete and click “Delete.”
- Print jobs time out after one hour. If a print job times out, it will not count against your print allocation.
Why does my printout look compressed?
- Documents too big to fit an 8½” × 11” sheet of paper will be scaled to fit that sized sheet.
