Dissertations and Theses

Finding Dissertations and Theses Online

The best place to search for dissertations and theses from other universities is the database, Dissertations and Theses Global, provided by ProQuest. Many documents can be found here in full-text, while titles, abstracts, and samples can be found for many others.

Most universities also make their dissertations and theses freely available online through their own institutional repositories, especially documents completed from the 1990s to present. After you find a citation for a dissertation or thesis, locate the institutional repository through Google or another search engine. Once at the repository, enter the author and title as your keywords.

To find dissertations, theses, and creative projects by Ball State students (including yourself!), visit our online repository, Cardinal Scholar. Many of these documents will be available online and in full-text through Cardinal Scholar, while older dissertations and theses can be found in-print in Bracken Library, Fourth Floor West.
