Where to Find Physical Books

Physical books related to nursing exist on the shelves at Bracken Library, as well as in the Health Library. Pay close attention to which library a book is housed in when you find it in OneSearch.

Searching for Books in OneSearch

Searching for books in OneSearch is the most direct way to find what you're looking for, but the Library of Classification System makes it easy to find related items simply by scanning the shelves, so don't forget to look at the other books on the shelf when you've located yours.

When searching for books and materials, use the following search terms, as relevant:

nursing or nurse, health care, allied health, medicine, primary care, geriatric nursing , pediatric nursing, rn or registered nurse

Alternatively, you can simply start by browsing the shelves. This will be easier in the Health Library, but it can be done at Bracken as well. See the Book Locations box to the left for additional information about locating books in the libraries. If you would like to browse, nursing books are organized with call numbers beginning with RT.

Where to Find Videos in a Physical Format

Most videos (both VHS and DVD) are located in the lower level of Bracken Library in the Education, Music and Media (EMM) unit.  However, the Science Library has a small collection of DVDs behind the counter which is listed below along with selected titles from EMM. You can use the Library Locations filter (select "Education, Music and Media Video" and "Health Library Counter") and the Content Type filter (select "Video Recording") in OneSearch to narrow your results down.
