Interlibrary Loan: Document Delivery FAQ

What Is Document Delivery? 
The Document Delivery service is offered to all Ball State University students, staff, and faculty members to request to have articles and book chapters owned by the Ball State University Libraries scanned for electronic desktop delivery via your ILLiad account.

Who Can Use the Service? 
Any Ball State University student, staff, or faculty member.

What Can Be Requested? 
Journal articles and book chapters owned by the Ball State University Libraries that are not available in an electronic format.

How Do I Request Items? 
Log in to ILLiad. From the ILLiad Main Menu, select either Journal Article or Book Chapter. Fill out the request form and click on Submit Request.  NOTE: If you do not have an ILLiad login, complete the registration form to create an account.

What Does It Cost? 
There is no charge for the service.

How Will I Receive the Items? 
Log into ILLiad and select Electronically Received Articles from the View Menu on the left to open the scanned items in PDF format. Items will be available for 30 from the day of posting.

How Long Does It Take to Receive an Item? 
Most items will be available in 1-2 business days.

What If the Requested Item is Unavailable? 
If an item is checked out, missing or otherwise unavailable, your request will automatically be converted into an interlibrary loan request.
