Finding Specific Articles

A guide which outlines different ways you can look for the full text of an article for which you have the citation.

Using Interlibrary Loan to get an article I need that I can't find anywhere else

Our Interlibrary Loan service:

  • helps students, faculty and staff to obtain items that are not owned by Ball State University Libraries
  • helps distance education students get access to titles that are in the Ball University Libraries collection (including books)
  • takes some time; allow several days for an article and at least a week for a book

Log on with your Ball State username and password.  If this is your first time using Interlibrary Loan, you'll be asked to fill out a form with your contact information.

Once you're logged in, look under the "New Request" heading on the left and choose "Journal Article."

Be sure all the fields marked with a red asterisk are filled in before you click "Submit" at the bottom.

Allow a week to ten days for your request to be filled, though often it's quicker.
