Industry and Business Environment
- Standard and Poor's Net Advantage This link opens in a new windowTo find an Industry Survey, type your company's name in the search box next to the red NetAdvantage logo, the auto fill feature will suggest company names, select your company when it appears. You will see a link to the industry surveys at the top of the left column under My Links. These reports tell you about the industry environment, how the industry operates, and provides information about industry trends.
- Business Source Complete This link opens in a new windowBusiness Source Complete also includes industry profiles. Enter the company's industry in the search box and select Industry Profile from the list of source types in the left column of the results list. You may have to click on Show More at the bottom of the source types list. Also, you may have to try different search terms to find a report. The source types list also includes trade publications as an option.
Structure of the Company
- Nexis Uni This link opens in a new windowThe Company Dossier includes some of the information you will need for part 3 of your paper. Useful links in the left column include Company Information, where you find a company hierarchy, Industry Knowledge, and Financial Overview.
To find a the Company Dossier clicking Menu next to the Nexis Uni logo and select "company dossier." Enter the company name or ticker symbol and search. The list will have the top 3 companies that match your search criteria along with their location. However, the company you are looking for may be lower on the list. To see the rest of the companies, click on the blue View All button. - Business Source Complete This link opens in a new windowSee the company profiles for a list of locations and subsidiaries. Find the company profile by clicking on More in the blue bar above the search box and select Company Profiles from the list. Enter your company name and click on Browse. The profiles also include company background information and other useful information.

Articles from this database will also be helpful in learning about the company culture. You may also find articles about its legal issues, as well as about employment policy issues and policies in general. - Nexis Uni This link opens in a new windowThe Overview on the Company Dossier can include the number of employees and a description of the company. To search for a Company Dossier, click on Menu near the top of the page and select Company Dossier. The Company Dossier sometimes also contains a corporate hierarchy.
