Master of Interior Design Research Guide

Many research resources are available to Ball State students off campus:

• OneSearch - Searches the library catalog and select University Libraries databases. If you are off campus, use Interlibrary Loan to request that University Libraries books be delivered to you as a Distance Ed student. You may also request PDF scans of book chapters or articles via Interlibrary Loan.
  • My Account (OneSearch) - Login to renew checked out materials
  • Interlibrary Loan - Login to check on request status and access PDFs received
• Reading Lists - items placed on course reserves by instructors.
• Articles & Databases - Use Interlibrary Loan to request copies of articles not available online.
  • The Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals - the only database to focus exclusively on topics in architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and historic preservation.
  • Kanopy Streaming Films - 30,000+ films, includes documentaries, foreign films, independent films, and more.
  • JSTOR - full text academic journal archive.
• Online Journals & Magazines - Look for the ONLINE tags for titles in the list.

University Libraries Interlibrary Loan will deliver books from the Architecture Library or Bracken Library to your home address. The library will ship the books to you for free, but you are responsible for the expense of shipping the books back to the library or dropping them off on campus.

To have items delivered to you:

1. Login to the Ball State University Libraries' Interlibrary Loan system.
    
2. If signing up for the first time, be sure to select "Distance Ed Grad" in the Status menu.
   
   
   If you're already signed up, you can check your status after logging in by going to Change User Information under Tools on the left side of the screen.
   
    
3. Fill out a New Request for a book or article (see menu on left side of screen).
   

If the book is checked out, you must also hold/recall the book and then request that it be sent to you via Interlibrary Loan:

Set the Pickup Location as: Bracken Library.
