Cardinal Scholar Institutional Repository

Cardinal Scholar

Cardinal Scholar is Ball State University's Institutional Repository, offering a central hub for users to store and access scholarly works produced by university faculty, students, and staff.

Open access principles make Ball State University scholarship freely available without many of the restrictions imposed by expensive academic journals. The same content published in prestigious publications can often be made freely available through Cardinal Scholar. This approach is highly beneficial to authors and readers as work becomes more visible and accessible, increasing citation rates and readership. Research has found that scholarly articles in institutional repositories receive 33% more citations than the world average.

We welcome diverse content including, but not limited to, articles, web-based exhibits, presentations, conference papers, videos, datasets, code, and technical reports. Members of the Ball State University community can upload materials into Cardinal Scholar directly, making their content immediately available to a wider audience.

Cardinal Scholar's Theses and Dissertations community provides access to doctoral dissertations, undergraduate and master's theses, and creative projects submitted by Ball State University students.
