The Music Collection of Bracken Library includes more than 20,000 compact discs, kept behind the circulation counter. A large binder listing the non-classical CDs according to specific genres sits in the middle of the counter to give users quick and logical access to the call numbers of CDs they might want to hear. Music Collection Night Supervisor Jeremiah Smith updates the guide whenever new CDs arrive in the collection. Although all CDs are discoverable in OneSearch, subject terminology is rather vague: "Rock Music, 1971-1980 could mean folk-rock of James Taylor or the glam rock of Queen or punk music by The Sex Pistols.
