Music Online: The Garland Encyclopedia of World Music is the online version of the multi-volume scholarly encyclopedia in the Music Collection's reference area. This resource emphasizes oral traditions (i.e., folk music) but also includes classical music from countries and regions around the world. Audio selections illustrate music described in the text and match the nine accompanying CDs available from the Music Collection circulation counter.

Ball State Libraries subscribes to an online streaming music service called Naxos Music Library. (You may have to log in if you are off-campus) Go to the Advanced Search screen and select a country. Most of the available music is from classical European art music traditions. This resource includes national anthems of every country, music inspired by specific countries, and music performed by citizens of several countries.
