Finding the Text of Articles

Some databases like JSTOR always contain the text of articles.  Other databases such as ERIC (EBSCOhost) don't always have the text.  Even Google Scholar doesn't always have the text.  So, sometimes finding the text can be a challenge.  Here is how you would find the article text in  the databases listed on this guide.

See Finding the Text of Articles video for more information about finding the text of articles.

ERIC (EBSCOhost) and other EBSCOhost databases such APA PsycInfo- Use the Access Options and Access Now buttons either on the result list or in the article record.

Web of Science- Look for the red Find It @ BALL STATE button, clicking on it will look to where the text is available or will provide a link an Interlibrary Loan form for the article.

JSTOR- The default search setting is "content I can access" so the text for the articles can be downloaded from the results list.

OneSearch- Use the PDF, Full Text Options, More Options buttons to locate the text of the article

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is an option if the text of the article is not available electronically.  We will borrow the article electronically from another institution and make it available to you, typically within 3 to 5 days.  Interlibrary can also be used to obtain books and others items not in our collections.

LibKey Nomad
LibKey Nomad is a helpful tool when you searching on Google or Google Scholar.  This browser plugin can be downloaded here. A guide to using LibKey Nomad can be found here.  Like Find It @ BALL STATE, it will look for the article text.
