Research

  • Use content type options and subject terms to exclude what you don't want from your results list.
  • Use the scholary research limit to include scholarly and peer-reviewed sources.
  • Search beyond Ball State University Libraries collections to see what else is available. Use Interlibrary Loan to request items.
  • Use the RSS feed for specific searches to get updates when new items are added that match your search. Add a feed for a favorite author, topic, or journal to get notified when new items are added to OneSearch.

Browse for Topics and Sources

  • Start searching and pay attention to useful and relevant subject terms and keywords. Refine with these terms to find more relevant items.
  • Limit to online and scholarly sources for quick access to credible and reliable information.
  • Limit your search to items in the library catalog to find books, DVDs, and other materials available in the University Libraries.

Find a Specific Title or Author

  • Enter the title of the item in the search box.
  • Use the advanced search option to search for a specific author, title, or journal name.
  • Use interlibrary loan to request the item if necessary.
