Music Collection

The Music Collection, located on Bracken Library's Lower Level, includes compact discs, sheet music (scores), and books about every style of music.  The main purpose of the collection is to support academic coursework in music, but it supports other interests as well.   Books are classed as ML or MT in the Library of Congress system.  Call numbers for scores begin with the letter M alone.  In addition, the Collection subscribes to the major research journals in the areas of music history and music theory and several searchable online databases.

Equipment in the Music Collection:

  • 2 Listening stations
  • 7 Computers with Finale
  • 3 Midi controllers
  • High-quality headphones
  • Y-cables for shared listening
