Music Collection

The Music Collection contains books about every style of music.  The main purpose of the collection is to support academic coursework in music, but it supports other interests as well.  Books about popular music and books in written in a popular style serve recreational reading interests and other potential academic areas.   Books are classed as ML or MT in the Library of Congress system, and are shelved in the Southwest section of the Lower Level of Bracken Library.  In addition, the Collection subscribes to the major research journals in the areas of music history and music theory and several searchable online databases.

Equipment in the Music Collection:

  • 2 Listening stations
  • 7 Computers with Finale
  • 3 Midi controllers
  • High-quality headphones
  • Y-cables for shared listening
